Your Stay in Floyd, VA

Hosting the 2026 Learning from the Bees conference in Floyd brings a unique sense of place and presence to the gathering. Both Floyd EcoVillage and Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary abound with vibrant pollinator gardens, living hives, and years of devoted practice, offering beautiful settings as well as a living expression of the conference’s deepest values. The surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains provide a natural cradle for inspiration, reflection, and connection. As the conference unfolds across both venues, participants will be immersed in a landscape where care for the bees and the Earth is woven into every detail of the shared experience.

To facilitate your stay in Floyd, we have blocked rooms in three local hotels (see below) and have provided links to other options on Airbnb and VRBO. If seeking lodging, we recommend that you book rooms sooner than later, as all properties offer reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.

The closest airport to Floyd is Roanoke–Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA), just under one hour's drive away. We recommend renting a car and/or carpooling, as public transportation to Floyd is limited, and the surrounding area is best explored with your own wheels. Travelers should expect winding, rural roads as they approach Floyd, so allow a little extra time to enjoy the beautiful Blue Ridge scenery along the way!
