"This was a bee meeting of an entirely new order, we let our hearts speak, we put the bees ‘centre-stage’ in all our deliberations, whether artistic, scientific or cultural. The bees were with us."

More past conference reflections - here

Learning from the Bees 2020 will be an intimate contemplative gathering of 120 people on the beautiful grounds of the Dartington Hall, UK. For this third conference dedicated to Learning from the Bees we will converge in a spirit of reflection, celebration and enquiry  as we acknowledge the honeybee’s place in this world as a creature worthy of respect and protection in its own right.

Learning from the Bees conferences are unique - bringing together natural beekeepers, scientists, conservationists, artists, writers and bee-lovers from all over the world.  Together, we shift our gaze from contemporary beekeeping practices towards a Culture of the Bee, exploring what that may look like, and how best to listen to the messages which the vanishing of our pollinators are giving us about ourselves and about our relationship with nature. We  have woven a strong international network of initiatives which share the common objective of returning health and resilience to the honeybee worldwide.

The speakers and event programme will be published in February 2020
